By placing an order with PHYLECIA SUTHERLAND you are accepting and are bound by these Terms and Conditions.Throughout the rest of this document, “me”, “I” and “my” will refer to PHYLECIA SUTHERLAND and “you” to the customer.

HANDMADE PAPER

Due to the handmade nature of my paper, there will be variations between each sheet and batch.  One batch of paper or envelopes may not look the same as another batch and it’s important to embrace this one-of-a-kind nature. I believe it is what makes the handmade so beautiful and I make no guarantee as to the colour, shape, size, texture and printability of any my handmade paper.

All products, content, specifications and prices are subject to change at any time without notice. I make every effort to accurately display the characteristics of my papers including all colours; however, the actual colour you see may depend on the calibration of your screen or monitor.

PRICES and ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Prices are subject to change at anytime without notice. For any order, especially trade or custom orders: if my costs increase due to changes in your order or any other unforeseen reason, I reserve the right to make adjustments to the price and may ask for this additional payment before continuing production.I also reserve the right to make adjustments to the price, to take account of any increase, or the imposition of, any taxes or duties.

PAYMENT

Full payment is due up front for all trade, custom and letterpress orders. I prefer customers to pay via bank transfer because it’s fast, reliable and secure. My account information will be provided on all invoices. 

Payments made in the online paper shop are safe and secure through Stripe.

PRODUCTION

Lead times can vary significantly with workload and season. When you enquire about a service, I will communicate what the current lead times are before you make a purchase. Rush orders are available for a fee of £100 and only if my schedule can accommodate. In the rare occasion there are delays beyond my control, I will keep you up to date with your order.

SHIPPING | custom orders

I send all items recorded and fully covered and will include shipping costs on your invoice. I am not responsible for any delays, damages or loss caused by the carrier. However, I always purchase insurance to cover the value of the order. I also am not responsible for any errors on your part (i.e. supplying an incomplete or incorrect address, delivery to a neighbour or not collecting a package from depots). Please note that for international deliveries, you are responsible for all import duties and taxes. International delivery may also exceed expected delivery time.

ABOUT LETTERPRESS

Letterpress is a handmade process. I manually control ink supply and feed each item one at a time. Every print may vary with ink coverage, ink colour, saturation and hue, impression, registration and other characteristics and I do not honour claims for a refund or reprint due to these reasons. Designs with large areas or block of colour will not be ‘solid’ and will appear grainy or salty.  With finer details, less ink is used to maintain the details and with large areas of artwork, there will be less impression. Letterpress inks are transparent and ink colours may vary depending on the colour of paper. I hand-mix custom colours, so ink colours may differ from what you see on your computer screen. I try my best to closely match the colour you desire and recommend sending a physical swatch if you have a specific colour in mind. I use Pantone’s (solid uncoated) system to colour match and mix ink as best as I can. As my press is an antique, there lies the possible circumstance that something may break. If this happens, it is highly unlikely it will be a quick fix. In this circumstance, I will inform you of the status of your order and may issue a full refund if needs be.

NOTE: Currently, I only provide letterpress services on my paper.

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS AND REPLACEMENTS

Trade/Bulk Orders: Due to the handmade and bespoke nature of papermaking, quantities cannot be reduced once production begins and I do not offer returns or refunds unless items are faulty. To receive a refund on faulty paper, all paper must be returned.

In extreme circumstances, orders may be cancelled after production begins and I reserve the right to keep full payment and any partial refund is at my discretion, but I will always be fair.

Letterpress: I will only print according to the approved proof. If any replacements are required due to errors, they will be charged in full. I am not responsible for any mistakes printed unless I deviate from the approved proof. Therefore, I recommend you check very carefully all information, design, grammar, spelling and size prior to final approval. As stated previously, every print may vary with ink coverage, ink colour, impression, registration and other characteristics and I do not honour claims for a refund or reprint due to these reasons.

The Paper Shop: You can return items purchased from the online shop within 14 days of receiving your paper. Please notify me first. A refund will be given upon receipt of unused and undamaged products. Please email me to discuss your return before sending any products back as this may delay or invalidate your refund.
